Volunteerism in the United States is on the decline for many Emergency Service Organizations and Rescue 8 is no different. We are always ready and willing to accept any indivdual who has some free time and wants to make a great contribution to their community.

Individuals accepted into the department on a volunteer basis are taught the basics in First Aid and CPR and are encouraged to further their education in emergency medicine by enrolling into EMT or Paramedic classes offered at local community colleges. Many of our volunteers have gone on to become employees within the department.

We also realize that running on an ambulance is not for everyone, please don't let that stop you from becoming a volunteer, we are also need of individuals to answer phones and greet visitors to our building. We can also use individuals who may be business owners or other members of the community who maybe able to offer the talents and expertise in areas of finance or business operations.
